Little People’s Landing Early Learning Centers have been a part of the community for almost 40 years.

We understand that today’s active families need a partner that really understands the need for safe, reliable, and loving care. At the core of our centers, you’ll find dedicated and highly trained staff who are deeply committed to providing your child the skills they need to reach their individual potential.

Additionally, Little People’s Landing is part of Early Learning Academies (ELA) family, a growing network of trusted early childhood learning centers led by a team of seasoned and committed childcare professionals.

Philosophy

At Little People’s Landing, we aim to foster a love of learning and exploration!  Throughout all of our classrooms, our play-based approach to learning cultivates an environment that focuses on the whole child and their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.

Teachers

The importance of quality teachers cannot be overstated. In addition to their warmth and sensitivity to the needs of young children, our teachers and assistants are carefully chosen for their experience and training in the fields of early childhood education and child development. Continuous education and participation in early childhood organizations help our staff stay abreast of the latest developments in childhood education.

As a fully licensed childcare center, our teachers are all trained in First-Aid and CPR and have undergone state background checks.

Training

Training

All Teachers, Directors, Assistant Directors, Drivers, and Infant Nursery staff are trained in First Aid, CPR and Universal Precautions and must maintain certification.

All employees receive mandatory safety training when hired including: Child Safety and Play Ground Rules, Colorado Rules and Regulations, Child Discipline, and Hazardous Materials. Additional safety training is required as part of our ongoing monthly training, and ongoing training modules.

Each school has key employees trained and certified in administering medicines. This requires a 4 hour class with our visiting nurse who oversees ongoing training for new medications or changes in existing medications.
Background Checks

Background Checks

All employees are subject to background checks (CBI, FBI, and/or Central Registry) as a condition of employment with LPL. Employees are also flagged so we are notified in the event they are arrested while employed with us. This means the employee is checked for any past issues, and we are also notified should they have any future issues.
Testing

Testing

LPL has a zero tolerance drug policy for staff. Therefore, LPL may conduct random or reasonable suspicion drug tests of any/all employees at any time. If it is confirmed that an employee worked for LPL with any measurable amount of an un-prescribed drug, alcohol, or illegal drug in the employee's body, the employee's employment with LPL will be terminated immediately. If an employee is selected for drug testing but refuses the test, they will be terminated. We do not allow tobacco usage of any kind on our property or in company vehicles, even if children are not present.
Child Discipline

Child Discipline

We do not think of discipline as punishment. Our goal is to help each child develop self control and a sense of respect for themselves and others. We strive to create a child care environment that encourages children to make positive choices. The word DISCIPLINE means TO TEACH. He/she must know what you expect from him/her before he/she can follow your instruction. Effective discipline teaches children behavior that is right for that time and place. Praise and positive reinforcement are our first methods of behavior management of children.

When inappropriate behavior occurs, it is corrected through explanation, redirection and diversionary techniques. Discipline is carried out in a non-threatening, positive manner that is appropriate to the child's level of development. Spanking and other forms of corporal punishment are not permitted under any circumstances.

Outdoor Play

We believe outdoor play is a vital element in a child’s learning experience. It is a medium for self-expression and helps develop their individual thinking processes. Our inspiring outdoor spaces provide a dynamic setting for children to learn how to build their interpersonal skills.
